Compassionate and Merciful

Praise the Lord! Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For his mercy endures forever. Psalm 106:1

Sometimes, worship and thanksgiving can be a sacrifice. That may be because we are down, depressed, or things are just not comfortable for us. Yet, the Bible urges us to give thanks to the Lord. Sometimes giving thanks can be difficult, because we feel we have been dealt a bad hand in life or things have happens to us that we don’t fully understand. But here is what we need to remember: ” In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18.

It’s so easy for me to give thanks when something wonderful happens to me. However, when something bad takes place….that’s another story. I have learned that most of the time what I think is a bad thing turns out to be a good thing. It just takes me awhile to figure that out because I want it my way not His way.

“In deed we count them blessed who endure, You have
heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord — that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.” James 5:11

Compassionate and merciful….WOW that He is. April 27,2011 was a horrible day. We lost our home and everything we owned to April’s Fury. But I sit here today just shy of 3 months since the storm and He has provided me with everything. I have not had to “want” for anything. We have new cars, new home, new furniture, new clothes and a new life. We have all of this because of Him.

” Cast your cares on the Lord and he will never let the righteous be shaken.” Psalm 55:22

Love and blessing to all,

Leigh Ann
