a day in our life

Life

Over the last 15 years, there have been many different seasons in our life…  Some have felt as cold as Winter and then there have been days filled with the new joy of Spring.  His word assures me that there is a reason for the valleys and the mountain tops…  A reason for the time wandering in the desert.  My Lord reminds me there is always opportunity…  I pray that our lives will reflect His glory through it all.

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; …”  Ecclesiastes 3:1-22

She said she wanted to capture A Day in the Life… I just laughed at the thought of what she would document.  I have watched her record our lives for quite some time…  I tell you, there have been some crazy moments she has caught on film.  From the beginning… I remember seeing her so young and yet so wise in the way she held the camera at such an angle.  I knew this was her thing!  It has thrilled me to watch her mature into such an awesome photographer, capturing lives in the most tender perspective.  She is my heart.  A blessing.  Chosen for our family.  It is not only exciting to see her grow in her profession but just as thrilling to see her mature in her faith.  Her sweet spirit is kind and so refreshing.

Funny how we attach these seasons to certain snapshots in our mind.  Whether they are seconds of time stamped on our heart or literal moments captured to hold…  I have found myself countless times looking back and drawing from this well of memories, this well of faithfulness.  See, these moments, the snapshots, they remind me of good times, bad times, hidden spiritual battles and public struggles.  Today, all I see is God’s faithful hand molding, shaping and refining our lives to better reflect His image.

I will cherish these photos… this crazy Day In the Life.  It was such an awesome fun day.  Completely us. Totally raw. Our life and the story He is writing.
