Well, right now most everyone I know is glued to their televisions rooting on the Crimson Tide. And I do love Alabama! But today, I have got another game on my mind…
Now, don’t get me wrong, I love football. Proud of my Alma Mater and Tuscaloosa holds a special place in my heart. I’ll stay up to see us win! Some of my favorite memories were created during those college years. During those years I grew in more ways than one, but that is another story…
The Wellhouse along with other ministries have claimed VICTORY in the Woodlawn area and today we SCORED BIG! God has got the ball and we are WINNING in Woodlawn and I am so excited to announce TODAY’s MVP’s of the game…
Sanquenetta, a beautiful mother who reluctantly and with great fear and concern came off her porch to let a bunch of crazy looking people talk to her! With great privilege and humility we prayed for her and ask for her help… She was a believer and you could see it in her eyes, she wanted to do His work and we were blessed to see her do so…
Derrick, a humble grateful believer, educated us a little on the area and just how big and bad our Goliath was… He told of the dangers, but willingly committed to prayer for the area and took information that he would give to those in need. Just when we were all busting with excitement over our two new “local team members”, we caught something he said… they weren’t working in Woodlawn anymore, they’ve moved out of one of the motels… Someone must have run them off... Everyone laughed with JOY and praise, we knew who had moved in, we knew what POWER had swept through those motels. We knew that God is at work in the Woodlawn area. TOUCHDOWN JESUS! Go GOD!
As we were about to pull away, a friend noticed Sanquenetta talking to a lady who had walked over to her home. I am sure questioning her of our motives… When she walked away, she was carrying the information Sanquenetta had volunteered to pass on and the care package that Sanquenetta had been given…
We watched our prayer being answered… and I was blessed at her sacrifice… Tonight as you lift up your prayers, I ask that you utter these names, these two MVP’s of today’s game… Sanquenetta… Derrick…
I am all piled up safe and sound in my bed, with my little laptop, my bibles piled on my nightstand, my new devotionals from Lifeway and my belly full and the roar of the Tide coming from the other room. Sanquenetta lives with the burden of a sick child and prostitutes for neighbors. Derrick battles the devil every evening when he clocks out…
Pray for them and their families.
Today was a good day.
RTR!
Go GOD!
Loving Mondays,
Natalie
