I’d Rather Have JESUS. . .

Wellness

I’d rather have Jesus. . .

So, the other day,  I found myself having this really intense conversation about choosing to live a godly life.  I mean, I wasn’t really trying to convince anyone of becoming a Christian.  I was just explaining all the benefits!  We are constantly facing trials in this crazy life we live in and I can’t imagine how I would handle things if I did not know Jesus and choose to seek HIM daily.

Too often we go looking for quick fixes. . .   Searching for something, anything that will make us happy and complete.  Let me say that I am nowhere near where I want to be as a Christian. . .  BUT, I know I am far from where I used to be.   I still get very impatient, too often doubt, jump to conclusions, use words that are not uplifting and just struggle with everyday challenges.

IF you and I sat down and we discussed your problems and what you could do, I would answer. . .  “Jesus.”

If you asked, “What should I do?”  I’d say, “Jesus.”

If you said, “Well, IF we could just do this or go get that. . .” I’d Say, “Jesus.”

or  “Well, I am just too tired.” . . .  “Jesus.”

“Is it worth it?”. . . “Jesus.”

“But, I have to. . . ” I’d say”Jesus.”

“We don’t have the money.” . . . “Jesus.”

and  then, “There is just not any extra time.”  . . . “Jesus.”

JESUS.  JESUS.  JESUS.  HE is the answer!  IT is that simple.  Really.  I KNOW!  How do I know?  Because I believe in Jesus Christ, I believe in God THE Father and I believe in The Holy Spirit and I believe the BIBLE is The WORD of God!  If you believe in Him, then what is the problem?!?!  How can you believe in Him and not believe the Bible?!  You can’t!  And the Bible says,

“5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”  Proverbs 3:5-6 King James Version (KJV)

Listen, I PROMISE that you will NEVER be satisfied with the ways of this world.  NEVER!  You will never have the right job, never have enough money, never the perfect home, the best car, the nicest clothes.. .  There is only one thing that can satisfy your needs.  When we figure this out and begin to  seek Him FIRST  with all our hearts,  then and only then will we know.   Know what?!?!  Know true JOY, a Peace that passes all understanding, know  true GRACE, know real LOVE, know happiness. . .
I mean, HE gave up the one thing He had!  Oh man. . .   As I am writing I am thinking of the most precious blonde headed little boy sleeping on his favorite pillow curled up next to his little rock {he don’t know it yet, but she is}.  Tonight, they practiced their reading, taking turns and helping each other out with words.  Just life.  A child will  completely turn your life upside down.  I could never explain the love that I have for my children, MY ONLY SON.  {if you have a child, you know this love}  Could you give them up. . .  let them die?!?!  You need to know that WHAT  He has to offer is SO great, He was willing to give HIS ONLY SON so that you could have it. . .  just have it!  HIS ONLY SON!  Whatever He has is so AMAZING, so perfect, so beyond ANYTHING our minds can fully understand, that He was willing to watch HIS ONLY SON DIE on a rugged, splintery, dirty, old CROSS so that we could have IT!  He is the only way.  Choose HIM!

Now, I am not saying that by having Jesus you will not have trials and tribulations.  BUT, you will be able to handle them better.  He will hold your hand as you walk through the difficult times.  “…never will I leave you.  Never will I forsake you.”  Hebrews 13:5 (NIV)    YOu will be able to deal with this crazy world and in the midst of it all give GOD all the GLORY!  Even helping to further HIS KINGDOM!  How do I know?  Because the Bible tells me so. . .
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation.   But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 (NIV)
HE’s overcome the world!!!!!  Read the end of the book. . .   HE WON!!!!!  {thanks  sweet friend}
I encourage you to SEEK Him and in Him you will be satisfied.
19And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 (NIV)

5You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.” Deuteronomy 6:5 (NIV)

Okay, I am gonna stop preaching at you and just simply tell you that. . .   I LOVE Him and He LOVES me and I know HE is all I need.  I hope whoever is reading this post KNOWS Him!  Really knows HIM!  KNOWS that He LOVES you!   I encourage you to seek a relationship with HIM!
“I know I’d rather have Jesus than ANYTHING this world affords today. . .
Whosoever trusteth in the Lord, happy is he.  Proverbs 16:20. . .  HIDE IT IN YOUR HEART!  It is simple, but it is ALL you need.

Hoping you all are having a BLESSED Wednesday!

Natalie, I have to tell you that when I just posted the “Am I Even Worthy” devotion I had not even read this. It’s amazing that we both just shared about God’s love for us and putting Him 1st place in our lives. His love and His presence is so overwhelming sometimes. I’m so thankful, I could never, ever have enough of Him.
