unlikely women…

One Table

After our monthly Women’s Gathering at church, I thought I would share with you all about a groovy little book I just LOVE!

I received this book back in 2009, a time when God really started to stir my soul,  speak to me…  and for one of the first times, I really started to listen.  He gave me a heart for the broken and He fueled a fire in me to encourage others, especially women.  THIS.  BOOK. WAS. PERFECT.  It seemed to just fill in all that I was feeling and covered me with encouragement.  YES, it is a novel…  And yes, I know it is not His Word.  But it is powerful!  Basically, the outline is provided by The Bible and the author just fills in with setting, characters and dialogue to create a complete picture.  It was a great book and really brought these amazing women to life…  And then you know what happened?!  I dove into his Word and read and then re-read the stories for myself!  By the time I got through, I knew these women and I had felt their pain, despair and hope…  It seems now, if I hear them mentioned, I do a double take…  “Rahab?!  Oh yeah, I know her..  she is awesome!  She lived…”  lol!!  Seriously, it is a great book and if you are looking for something to read…  something encouraging…  THIS is your book and you can find it here…

A Lineage of Grace: Five Stories of Unlikely Women Who Changed Eternity

I have been telling folks about this book for quite sometime…  I think I am going to read it again!  Anybody up for reading along with me?!?!  Let me know and we will read it together!  Encouraging another along the way!  Leave me a comment or message me…  it will be fun!

A quick review…  “Five women whom God Chose…

Tamar, Betrayed by the men who controlled her future, she fought for her right to believe in a loving God.

Rahab, A woman with a past to whom God gave a future.

Ruth, She gave up everything, expecting nothing, and God honored her.

Bathsheba, Her beauty stirred the passion of a king.  Her pain moved the heart of God.

Mary, All eternity had been waiting for this moment.  She responded in simple obedience to God’s call.”

Whew!  If that don’t get you fired up!!!  While reading this book I fell in love with these women, especially Rahab!  Each of these…  Ruth gleaning…  Oh man!  And that last bit on Mary…  “She responded in simple obedience to God’s call.”  Oh man!!  It is just a great book!!

And everytime I open this book, I find these words…

I hope you get a chance to read this book and are as inspired as I was to finish the race!

Happy reading and Peace OUT,

Natalie
