All. My. Life.  I have dreamed of living on a farm.  Really, I have.  I have tons of pictures to prove it… 

Of course there were animals and tales before Andy came on to the scene…  But, I’ll start this story with him.

Oh, I wanted a rabbit and oh I knew he could build me a rabbit cage.  He was so smart and so handy…  It seemed so fairy-tale-like, tending to a rabbit.  Oh, that rabbit…  I was young, I didn’t know…  Our relationship didn’t last very long, me and the rabbits of course…  Mine and Andy’s relationship was just beginning…  The foreshadowing of this tale.  My precious love unable to say no and wanting to just give me what I desperately {oh heavens!} desired…  

Twenty years later that same love is still giving life to all my dreams…  even the crazy ones!  And when it comes to the whole farm dream, we’ve got the tales and the animals to prove it…  In the beginning it was the rabbit…  Then there were the minis {horses}…  The goats…  The chickens…  The rescues {horses, like ginormous white horses, Arabian horses, TWO!}…  The paint…  The peacocks…  The turkeys…  More goats…  More chickens…  And eventually more rabbits.  The tales I could tell with each of these animals!  

One thread continually weaving through all of these stories and still ring true…  a girl desiring the simple, clean, country life. Craving to plant, to grow and tend to the things that God has so graciously given.  And, a boy loving a girl, sharing those same dreams and desires.

So, what are we doing today…

I’m watching my farmer clear a little land for a small pasture on our little piece of paradise… this side of the pearly gates.  It’s feeling a little like a farm around here…  Isn’t life grand.
