This morning I woke to the crisp cool air of a beautiful Fall morning. We are well into October and today we feel the true essence of this season. I believe Autumn just might be my most cherished time of the year. But then again, ask me when I am totally immersed into the hope of new life breaking through cold ground and all that it represents in my soul and you most likely will hear the same words… I love THIS time of year.
I love how The Lord created different seasons. It’s as if He knew… that we would need these changes. New beginnings, new perspective, new mercies. My soul feels completely stirred just by walking onto my back porch.
I can’t help but assume the position of one looking over the edge onto the beautiful landscape below. So beautiful. So manicured. Poetic. Only The Artist could paint such a portrait.
Thankful for the perspective… When not long I found myself seeing no further than my hand in front of my face and frozen with fear as to which foot to place in front of the other.
Stepping away and now looking down I see the beauty. It’s perfect. Breathtaking. Never during that season would I have ever dreamed such beauty would emerge from the hard and lifeless ground.
I am reminded of how God allows us to experience different seasons spiritually. I feel I’ve just left a season of battle with great victory. Probably the most exciting and scariest time of my life. I don’t think I could have taken another day. And I am certain my Lord knew that… I cried until the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from The Lord. . Praise God He heard the cries of the righteous.
So, where is the Simple Living in all of this? His WORD. His word is true. We make it so very hard and way too confusing. My God is not a God of confusion. When we decide to actually believe what we say and preach then it becomes so very simple. When we trust that His word tells us we will have seasons then we too must believe His promises of new mercies in the morning.
We Christ followers claim and truly believe IN God, but go no further with BELIEVING GOD.
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the sun… I have seen the burden God has laid on men. He has made everything beautiful in its time.” Ecclesiastes 3:1-11
It’s simple to say we believe in God. BUT to say WE believe God. Well, you just can’t fathom the truth that will bring such holy simplicity and peace to your life.
