RADIANT  |  Day 20…

Don’t be afraid of the dark.  Sometimes we hold ourselves back from truly shining.  Fear and pride have such a grip we feel we have nothing to offer and remain in the dark.   Sometimes we find ourselves in such a place there seems no hope.  We could never make enough effort to make our way out of the dark we have allowed to consume our world.

This is not the life Christ intended for us to have, to live…  The enemy loves to use these two gripping words to take such a hold on our lives we feel we have nothing to offer His Kingdom.  We grow complacent with mediocre Christianity and excuse ourselves with the world’s standards and not Christ.

Christ says in John 10:10…

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (KJV)

The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.  (NLT)

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (NIV)

Jesus told this simple story, but they had no idea what he was talking about. So he tried again. “I’ll be explicit, then. I am the Gate for the sheep. All those others are up to no good—sheep stealers, every one of them. But the sheep didn’t listen to them. I am the Gate. Anyone who goes through me will be cared for—will freely go in and out, and find pasture. A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of. (MSG | 6-10)

A life so bright, better than we have ever dreamed of…

When we are distracted by all the other external lights in our world we fail to see our own light shining.  When we fail to see our own light reflecting God’s radiance we find ourselves in a dark place.  It is there we have to make a decision to humbly place our brokenness in Christ hand, thinking more of Him than we think of ourselves.  Believing His word is true.  Believing God sent His ONLY SON so that we may have life and have it abundantly!  Christ is the living water, He is THE LIFE, He is the Light of the world.  To claim Christ is to choose the light in the darkness.

Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. |  Psalms 34:5

Christ wants to look at you and see His face…  He doesn’t see what shame that keeps you from being Radiant and His word is reassuring of this.   The Enemy tries to fill us with such doubt and pride we are gripped with fear to ever brave or transparent enough to shine His light back into the world.

When you find yourself in the valleys, KNOW that it is here in the darkness we truly begin to see the Light.

He reminds us of this truth every night.  IT is His beauty and majesty we see strewn across the midnight sky.  Don’t underestimate the power of God, His majesty and His purpose for your life.  All you need to do is step outside on a clear dark night and look up and see the we are truly not in the dark.  We are surrounded by His light.

He desires for you to shine brightly, to be the light of the world…  a city on a hill that cannot be hidden.  It is okay if you find yourself in the dark…  for me it is where He has shown the brightest.

when you find yourself in the dark…  choose to be radiant!
